“European Maldives” Discovered. This Time It’s Not Albania

From Poland to the Maldives in two hours, with budget airlines and no transfers? The desire to find a "European" version of the famous archipelago has been haunting tourists for many months now. Internet portals recommend increasingly beautiful beaches, which are supposed to be a cheaper and closer alternative to exoticism. The "European Maldives" has already included Ksamil in Albania , but not everyone agrees with this verdict. Now, the British The Telegraph has found a place that resembles the desired paradise even more.

The "European Maldives" are in Spain

"The younger sister of Ibiza" - this is how the British portal calls Formentera, the fourth largest island in the Balearic archipelago. But Formentera is not only a quieter version of the party capital of Europe. For many tourists, it is the fulfillment of dreams of an exotic paradise - The Telegraph believes that it is the Spanish island that is the place most similar to the Maldives, desired by travelers. We are talking especially about Migjorn beach, known for its white sand and crystal clear water, whose similarity to the Maldives was rated 9 on a scale of 0 to 10. "Formentera combines charm and luxury" - we read.

These places are worth paying attention to

In its search for similarities to the Maldives, The Telegraph also highlighted several other European destinations. Among them, of course, was Ksamil in Albania, but also Sani Beach on the Kassandra Peninsula in Greece, Pampelonne Beach on the French Riviera in France and the Costa Smeralda coast in Sardinia.

An interesting point of the list is undoubtedly Carbis Bay in Cornwall. It shows that beautiful views reminding of distant exoticism do not have to be sought in hot countries in southern Europe. "On a hot day in Carbis Bay, turquoise water, powdery sand and breathtaking views are as extraordinary as on a tropical island," we read. Of course, the water temperature leaves much to be desired.
